I know what I want my instruments to do and sound like. I can testify that there are only maybe four other people in the world who can deliver what I need and two of them haven't taken a new order in years.

Joe is a great guy, very cool, very easy to talk to, unlike me he listens more than he speaks. He did some work for me that two other top customizer's wouldn't or couldn't do. He's a hard worker out side of a customizer and does this out of love and it shows in his words and actions.

I'm poor because I play Harp for a living but the money I have spent and will spend with Joe is irrelevant to me compared to the craftsmanship, quality, sound and beauty of the Harmonicas he made for me. In short Joe
Spiers is one of very, very few people I would call "The Real Thing" meaning his work can stand along side or exceed anyone in the business past or present."

I have tried every major U.S. Customizer's work and many foreign guys as well. Out of all of them I have only engaged in repeat business with three: Joe Spiers is one.

Joe's harps are loud super-sensitive and responsive without the reeds feeling flimsy or sounding overtly bright/trebly.

Over-blow and over-draws are effortless and once "popped" up bend easily and firmly in a controlled manner without feeling like they might hiss, squeal, or pop back accidentally.

They are fast and never sticky. They also look beautiful which I actually place value on, and his rounded out cover plates are as comfortable to the hands and mouth as they are loud.
